Recently, Zhang Lin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, along with Huang Wei, Director of the Department of Social Development Science and Technology, and Deputy Director Zhan Dishen; Yang Tao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Pingshan District Party Committee and Executive Vice District Mayor, and District Science and Technology Innovation Bureau Director Liu Yingjie; as well as the project team from the Shenzhen Medical Academy's "Shenzhen Medical Special Project," visited Shenzhen Cell Valley for inspection and research. They were warmly received by Shi Yuanyuan, Professor, Chairman, and General Manager of Shenzhen Cell Valley; Chief Scientist Professor Wang Jianxun; Head of Administration Wei Zheng; Head of R&D Zhao Lijun; Head of Marketing Sun Rui; Head of Finance Li Zhi; and Assistant to the Chairman Fu Yuchen, who also held a symposium with the delegation.


Guided by Shi Yuanyuan, the visiting leaders toured the Shenzhen Cell Valley Smart Exhibition Hall, gaining in-depth insights into the company's development history, current infrastructure, strategic planning, and core products. Subsequently, the delegation conducted a field inspection of the Shenzhen Cell Valley GMP production workshop.


During the symposium, Chairman Shi Yuanyuan extended a warm welcome to the leaders for their guidance and provided a systematic introduction to the company's innovative developments in the field of cell therapy. As a key public service platform for the biopharmaceutical industry in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Cell Valley possesses top-tier domestic industrial-scale production technology for retroviral vectors, with viral packaging efficiency and stability reaching advanced international standards. Leveraging its profound expertise in cell therapy, Cell Valley has achieved significant milestones over the past three years: it was approved as a 2022 Shenzhen Major Project, a 2023 Major Biopharmaceutical Industry Public Service Platform by the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, a 2024 Shenzhen High-Level Talent Team, and a 2025 Industry Mentor Team for Vocational Colleges by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Additionally, the company has established talent training bases in collaboration with multiple universities to promote the deep integration of industry and education.Looking ahead, Chairman Shi Yuanyuan put forward several proposals from an enterprise perspective, focusing on early-stage research, Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT), and policy implementation, while expressing hope for continued support from municipal and district science and technology departments.Professor Shi emphasized that Shenzhen Cell Valley is eager to join hands with the government, academic institutions, and industry partners to drive breakthroughs in the cell therapy industry and contribute to Shenzhen's vision of building a global innovation hub for biopharmaceuticals.

Zhang Lin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, stated that this inspection focused on several key areas: the current status of industrial development, technological innovation and collaboration, policy support and services, industry regulation and safeguards, as well as industrial upgrading.He encouraged enterprises to strengthen cooperation with international advanced companies and research institutions, actively expand into global markets, and thereby drive the rapid development of Shenzhen's biopharmaceutical industry.
In his concluding remarks, Director Zhang Lin expressed recognition of Shenzhen Cell Valley's achievements in the field of cell therapy, noting that its development strategy aligns closely with the research objectives of both the municipal and district science and technology innovation bureaus. Director Zhang emphasized that, building on the findings of this inspection, the bureaus will further optimize policy support and strengthen service guarantees to help enterprises like Shenzhen Cell Valley enhance their core competitiveness. Furthermore, the government will continue to promote collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research institutions, while strengthening industry regulation to ensure the healthy and orderly development of the biopharmaceutical sector. He affirmed the government's commitment to supporting cell and gene therapy companies in playing a greater role on the stage of the Greater Bay Area and the global market, thereby driving Shenzhen's biopharmaceutical industry to new heights.
